I really had not heard very much about this movie until it came out. So I did what I usually do and got on to Yahoo Movies and watched the preview. Which didn't really explain to me what the movie was going to be about. So I was kind of skeptical going into it.
However as soon as the movie started and got about 10 min. in I knew it was going to be worth it. Australia was full of action scenes and romance. A story that always kept you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns but could keep your attention throughout.
This movie very easily could have been two different movies. The first half is the story of how Hugh Jackman's character and Nicole Kidman's character meet and at first can not stand one another but later fall in love. After the first half is done it moves to a completely different story about trying to save the child they have in a way adopted, Nalla, from the Japanese attacking Darwin Australia in WWII. Which was packed full of action, suspense, and tore at your emotions.
This movie being nearly 3 hours long had so many different sub-plots going on at the same time I was not sure how they would tie them all back together and conclude before the movie was over, but the Director did a great job of this and all loose ends were tied up. And left you happy with those conclusions.
The only negative thing I can think to say about how the movie was made is that there were many scenes where the backrounds were CGI and you could 100% tell they were CGI and there really was no point for them to be that way. They would be of the sky or the rocks behind the characters, and I dont understand why they couldnt just use what was already there in the scene. It didnt seem to me like they were really in Australia at parts because they hardly ever used the actual backroud of Australia.
This movie was not the best movie of the year by any means but it was entertaining and I did enjoy it. It is well worth renting or going to see at any theater.

Twilight
Twilight...one of the best selling books in the world...one of the biggest flop movies ever! This movie was full of cheesy lines and terrible writing/acting. Now I read the books, I personally was not a fan of the books, but I can see how girls love them. The books let their imagination of this world with Edward go crazy. Here in the movie, they saw it how I did when I read the books. Edward was not as romantic as they all thought. His lines suddenly didnt sound quite so perfect. Every detail of the books that stimulated their imagination was left out, therefore forcing them to see Edward for what he was, a weird'o. In the movie never once does he say "I love you" to Bella once. Further proving my theory that Edward never really loves her he just wants to eat her, but I digress.
From the first ten min of the movie you could tell the whole movie was going to be full of cheesy situations and crappy acting. For example, when Bella first walks into her biology class. In the movie she walks in and the scene slows down as she walks in front of a fan which blows her hair wildly and then you see Edward have an over dramatic freak out. First thing wrong with this scene, Its Forks, its cold and rainy. Everyone has coats on, why would there be a fan on? Second, Edward's sense of smell would have been strong enough to pick her up as she walked in without the fan. And personally I think he wouldn't have looked like he was going to throw up all over the desk when he first smelled Bella, she smells good, that's why he likes her.
Next part in which I wanted to shoot myslef. When Edward shows her what he looks like in the sun. First in the book he doesnt want to show her at first it takes time to build to it. But in typical Hollywood fashion they change that. He is all excited to show her and he finds it completely vital that she sees. When it does show him he looks more homosexual then he did before when he "Glistens like Dimonds" Please people!
Now I must say positively the Cullens were cast very well, all of them I was very pleased with. Also Bella. Edward I thought was cast well but he actor himself could have used some work. He is English and you can pick up on his struggle for an American accent through out the film. In the first few scense he sounds kind of like a handicaped person.
All in all this movie was no good. I am sure all of the sisters who are fans of Twilight will enjoy it because the girls I went with said that there were parts they loved but they agreed all in all it was no good. This movie was not worth the wait.

I Am Sorry
I have not posted for over a month now, I am very sorry for this, I kind of ran out of money but will soon be starting a new job working as the Joker at a local haunted house! So as soon as I have money I will go see more movies and I will blog about them for you. Thanks!

The Dark Knight
I do not even know where to begin. From the second the movie started to the second the credits began to roll you were sucked into the comic book world of Bruce Wayne. It was filled with intense sequences of action and the constant pull of moral conflict. This is by far not only the best superhero movie of all time, but the best of the summer.
The writing of this movie was absolutely incredible. They turned a beloved Joker, who in the original was just that a joker, into the most twisted and disturbed comic villain I have ever seen. In the first Batman (Keaton, Nicholson) you never really feared the Joker. He was the same bad guy before he fell into chemicals as he was after, just with a white face and a large grin. The very first time the Joker makes his appearance in the movie, you see how horrifying he really is. And through out the movie the writing gets better and better. The Joker gets more and more disturbing and at the same time you just have to laugh because it is so genius.
Which brings me to my next point. Heath Ledger. Not a soul on this earth can ever match up to what he did as the Joker, he took the thought of the Joker, and turned him into someone you loved to watch and at the same time feared for your life in the theater. I dont normally get scared in movies, or if I do the next minute I am laughing at myself because it was pointless for me to be scared. But in this movie some of the scenes with the Joker were so terrifying it was hard for me to not full on scream. (Which by the way many people did) I think to me the best part of Heath Ledger's Joker was that he had humor that really made you laugh, completely laugh out loud, then the next second you would be gripping your knees in the fetal position.
Christain Bale, again I cant think of anyone who can do what he has done with Batman. In the original Batman, the Joker is killed by Batman. Not here, the whole movie ties into Bruce Waynes struggle with his morals because even though this man is so sick and twisted he can not kill him. He tries many times but he can never go through with it and the Joker is there, laughing in his face.
Micheal Cane and Morgan Freeman, both are wonderful actors and I love to watch them in these movies because they tend to relieve the tension that builds and doesnt seem to have an end.
To conclude this review I just have to say, I waited all summer for this movie and the second it got out I wanted to go buy tickets for the 3:15 AM showing they had at Jordan Commons. Never before in a movie have I laughed so hard, cheered so loud and thought I was going to wet myself it was so scary. Its a movie you want to see over and over because every time you will pick up on something new. And as Dad has requested I am going to start giving movies crowns. I dont really know how those convert to stars or anything, but in my review world 5 is the highest amount of crowns I can give a movie and I give this movie all 5 crowns. Hands down best movie of the summer, and possibly the year.

10,000 BC
Alright so I watched 10,000BC tonight. This movie is by the same director of Independence Day and the Day After Tomorrow. This movie was not anything close to those movies. In 10,000BC all the characters looked the same. I couldnt tell the difference between the main character and supporting characters. And it never had a defined story! The story line changed 2 or 3 times and by the end I couldnt keep them all straight.
Then for some odd reason all these random tribes got together to fight a war agains these alien type people and each one spoke a different language and there were no subtitles. So I never understood what was going on. Every so often there would be a line or so someone would translate, but most of it was just left alone.
There were also strange animals that I didnt even know were around when people were around. They looked like bird/raptor animals. So it gave the movie a kind of Jurassic Park feel too it as they walked through tall grass and people got attacked. (Just like in the Lost World)
So to conclude the very confusing and jumpy story line, it was a George of the Jungle meets Jurassic Park, and the Scorpion King type battles all mixed into one movie. After making movies like Independence Day this director seriously needs to think about his movies before he agrees to direct them. I award this movie no points.

My First Post
Hello Everyone,
I have Not seen any new movies that I have not already talked about. However I did see Hancock again last night with the family and I have come to a conclution about Will Smith
Will Smith is one of the few actors that can play any character and I do not see him as one person. For example Amanda Bines will always be to me from the Amanda Bines Show, no matter what her character is. But who ever Will Smith Plays, I do not see him as the Fresh Prince. He can play anything from a superhero, to a Dad trying to make a life for him and his son. No matter what the movie I never say, "Will Smith seemed to play this character the same as this character." Every character for him is different and I love that.
My next movie I will be seeing is Batman The Dark Knight. I will be seeing it at midnight on July 18th then again at 8:00Pm on July 19th. So I will give you my opinion both after the midnight showing and after seeing it again.
